A winter storm approaching New Jersey is expected to bring heavy rain and snow to parts of New Jersey Tuesday morning.
A winter storm warning has been issued for north and central New Jersey. Many people spent Monday getting prepared for the weather event.
"It’s coming. We’re gonna get a large amount of snow tomorrow. Especially around 6 a.m. tomorrow… it's gonna come down real heavy,” says Sussex County emergency management coordinator Michael Strada.

Strada is urging people in northern New Jersey to stay home.
"If you're gonna take a day off, take a day off tomorrow because the morning commute is really going to be heavy snow…some of these roads could become impassable,” he says.
SCHOOL CLOSINGS: Closings, delays and schedule changes
Sussex County officials say there are 70 plow trucks with salters ready to cover 600 miles of country roads. Strada is urging motorists to allow the crews to work and to give them plenty of room.
Some came out to Karig’s Hardware in Livingston to stock up on supplies.
"Nice and steady flow, people getting ready for the snow. Getting their ice melter, shovels, snow brushes,” says owner Dante Passerini. “The best thing you can do is really just be prepared."
School closures and power outages are expected.
Officials also say that the snow is expected to be heavy and hard to shovel. They say anyone with health issues should use caution or ask for help.
