One resident?s efforts to go green has his neighbor seeing red.
Along with solar panels, Michael Mercurio relies on the energy produced by his windmill to power his Long Beach Township home. While Mercurio is making a conscious effort to go green, one of his neighbors wants the wind turbine to come down. The neighbor filed a lawsuit claiming the device creates shadows on her property and is too noisy.
Although the windmill is currently awaiting repair, Mercurio cannot fix it because Long Beach Township has ordered repair work to stop. The Township Attorney says that zoning laws were violated.
Mercurio plans to address the lawsuit in court. His neighbor, who filed the suit, was unable to be reached for comment.
