A tree crashed down onto a home along Jumping Brook Road in the Lincroft section of
Middletown.
“It's a little unusual, but we get the
winds - and the age of the trees, it happens,”
says Dennis Fowler, with
the Middletown Township Fire Department.
The homeowner was away when the tree crashed
into the side of his house. The township will now have to inspect the property
to see if the homeowner can return inside.
Strong overnight winds also knocked down a tree
in Holmdel Township, blocking Centerville Road and bringing with it power
lines.
Outages were
scattered across the region. Because of lingering strong winds,
it may take crews longer to repair the downed lines, according to
JCP&L.
There were no injuries to report.
