A Bronx school was partially evacuated Wednesday after a powdery substance was found, prompting emergency officials to swarm Harding Avenue.
Authorities say six people were decontaminated after coming in contact with the white substance, which was mailed to St. Frances De Chantal School at 2962 Harding Ave. A News 12 The Bronx crew witnessed hazardous material workers arrive, but they came after the decontamination. Police officers and firefighters closed off nearby streets while paramedics were on standby to help. The Department of Environmental Protection was also at the scene.
Officials have not confirmed whether the substance is harmful.
