The United States is approaching a milestone in the search for a cure.
The White House says by the end of the weekend, nearly half of all adults will have had their first COVID-19 shot.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says nearly 42% of the U.S. population over age 18 has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The CDC announced Tuesday that nearly 80% of U.S. teachers, school staffers and child care workers have been vaccinated so far.
