NJ Transit officials have laid out a contingency plan due to the locomotive engineer strike.

PATH, Amtrak, ferries, buses and Light Rail will continue to run.

Enhanced bus service and supplemental bus service will be added at four Park & Ride locations, to move people from Secaucus Junction, Hamilton Rail Station, Woodbridge Center Mall and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.

Park & Ride service will operate on a first come, first served basis beginning on May 19, weekdays only, during a.m. peak period inbound and p.m. peak period outbound.

OPERATION TIMES OF PARK & RIDE SERVICE

NYC-Inbound Transportation (Operates Weekdays Only)

  • Secaucus Junction Bus Plaza to Port Authority Bus Terminal -- 6 a.m. – 9:30 a..m.

  • PNC Arts Center (Operated by Academy Bus) to Port Authority Bus Terminal -- 5 a.m. – 8 a.m.

  • Hamilton Rail Station to Newark Penn Station for PATH Transfer -- 5 a.m. – 9 a.m.

  • Woodbridge Center Mall to Harrison PATH Station -- 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.

NYC-Outbound Transportation (Operates Weekdays Only)

  • Port Authority Bus Terminal to Secaucus Junction Bus Plaza -- 3 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

  • Port Authority Bus Terminal (Operated by Academy Bus) to PNC Arts Center -- 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

  • Newark Penn Station to Hamilton Rail Station -- 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

  • Harrison PATH Station to Woodbridge Center Mall -- 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Limited added capacity on existing NJ Transit bus routes to/from NYC:

  • Northeast Corridor: 108, 112, 115 and 129 bus routes

  • North Jersey Coast Line: 116 and 133/135 bus routes

  • Raritan Valley Line: 112 and 113 bus routes

  • Morris & Essex Lines: 107 bus routes

  • Montclair-Boonton Lines: 193 and 324 bus routes

  • Main/Bergen County Lines: 145, 163, 164 and 190 bus routes

  • Pascack Valley Line: 163, 164 and 165 bus routes

Ticketing: All existing valid rail tickets and passes with an origin or destination of New York, Newark or Hoboken will be accepted for travel on all Park & Ride service, and will be accepted on NJ TRANSIT buses and light rail lines. For more information on ticketing click here.
