If your driver's license says, "Not For Real ID Purposes" and you plan to fly after May 7 of this year, it's time to make an appointment at the motor vehicles.

Starting May 7, travelers must have a Real ID compliant driver license/ID to fly within the U.S., unless you use a U.S. passport or another federally approved form of identification.

To get the Real ID you will need two forms of identification to prove where you live, 1 proof of your Social Security number, as well as some of the documents listed here.

It's encouraged that you make an appointment with motor vehicles sooner than later and not delay, especially if you plan to fly later this year.
