Westchester County is highlighting a program designed to promote safety among neuro-diverse kids during Autism Acceptance Month.

Project Lifesaver offers locator bracelets that can help find children and young adults who have wandered off. The bracelets are also available for people who have Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Project Lifesaver began in 2009 and is geared toward children and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities who are living with their families, and who have a history or are at risk of wandering from their caregivers.
