More than 300 students at Achievement First Middle School in Crown Heights got a leg up on the 2022-23 school year Friday.
Volunteers from the WeLoveU foundation hand-delivered hundreds of backpacks to help alleviate financial burdens for New York students and their families.
One of them argued that the program "is very necessary because there's a lot of students that maybe don't have the resources."
Students described the event as a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
