The Weehawken town council has voted to ban short-term rentals.

The town council officially adopted an ordinance Wednesday night to ban services like Airbnb.

Beginning in January, any rentals that are less and 30 consecutive days will be blocked. Repeat offenders could face fines and even jail time.
