A Wayne car wash is doing its part to keep the environment clean and customers are keeping the business in the fast lane.
Wayne Auto Spa owner Robert Burke says his business is the first solar-powered car wash in the Garden State. It uses 60 solar panels that provide 25 percent of the power used. Waste oil from cars is also recycled and will be used to generate heat in the winter. Burke says at this rate, his car wash will prevent 12 tons of carbon dioxide from entering into the atmosphere by the end of 2006.
Customers are coming from miles away to support the environmentally friendly business. Wayne?s mayor believes the car wash will help fuel his dream of making the township a better place to live.
