A water main break on Route 1 North in Edison is causing traffic delays.
Edison Township officials say that Route 1 North is shut down between Travers Avenue and Edmund Street. Parts of Route 1 South are also closed.
Mayor Sam Joshi says that the break happened around 10 a.m. Crews are on the scene making repairs.
The state Department of Transportation says repairs are expected to be completed by Tuesday.
North Brunswick officials say that traffic is being diverted in New Brunswick onto Route 18.
