A water main break sent water cascading into the street Saturday near the Deal Esplanade in Monmouth County. 

Crews are working to shut down a 12-inch pipe in order to diagnose exactly where the break occurred. 

The break did not affect the larger pipes that feed into the neighborhood – meaning most homes still have water service.

The fire department also said that the break didn't take any hydrants out of service. 

Crews say they are working to mitigate the water in the street to make sure it does not turn into a sheet of ice amid the region's deep freeze.
