Officials cut the ribbon this morning on an HIV-focused specialty
pharmacy at a Walmart store in Hudson County – the first such pharmacy
it has opened in the Northeast.
The pharmacy will feature industry-leading clinical programs, HIV
trained pharmacists, care-coordination, healthy lifestyle guidance and
emotional support services provided by Walmart community health workers.
For those that wish to stop by to learn more, representatives from Walmart and the pharmacy manager will be available.
The event is part of
the store’s re-grand opening, highlighting
improvements made throughout the store to make shopping easier and more
enjoyable.
The Hyacinth AIDS Foundation mobile unit will be providing free,
confidential HIV testing that takes only 20 minutes to produce test
results.
News 12’s Ali Reid was at the ribbon cutting ceremony with more details.
