Volunteers came to clean a memorial to a 9-year-old cancer victim after it was vandalized over the weekend.
Bryan Bellace is facing lewdness charges for allegedly urinating on the memorial to Christian Clopp, who died in 2012. The plaque was in a children’s playground.
Police say another man, Daniel Flippen, filmed the incident. He was charged with having an open beer in the park.
Volunteers Demons Walker and Paul Burgan came to disinfect the memorial plaque when they found out what happened.
“We come together. This is our community. When stuff like this happens, we come together and we take care of what needs to be done,” says Burgan.
Christian’s father Mark Clopp commented about the incident on Facebook.
“As for the two actors: I don’t know either one of you. I have no idea what exists in your life to make you so indifferent to how others feel but I hope this serves as a wake up call and you get the help you need,” he wrote.
Mark says that the two men have since apologized for their actions.
