The United States Geological Survey reported that a magnitude 2.4 earthquake shook parts of western New Jersey on Friday.

The quake was in Whitehouse Station.

According to News 12 meteorologist Mike Rizzo, the quake is deeper and weaker than the 2024 April quake, which was nearly 1.6 miles deep and at a magnitude 4.8.

He says it was likely only felt close to where it occurred in surrounding communities in Morris and Hunterdon counties.
