The Christmas countdown is under one week away and according to United Airlines, travel will be at a record-breaking number this holiday.
For now, those in the aiport don't seem to be in a huge rush or panic at this hour of the morning. News12 spoke with one gentleman who was satisfied with the airport so far today.
"So far, it's been fairly easy just coming to Central America. I have not been here in a few years. It is a big airport serves a lot of people so with the commotion it's the best it can be," said Thomas.
United Airlines expects to fly about 10.3 million people between December 18 to January 6 – the most passengers we’ve ever flown over the winter holiday travel season. Of those 10.3M, about one million will travel to or through Newark. This Saturday, Dec. 20anticipated to be the busiest day.
United says that the busiest travel day for United is expected after Christmas. Over 550,000 passengers are expected to fly on Saturday, Dec. 27.
The recommendation is to download the United app to save time and help to make your experience run more smoothly - check your flight status often as it could be subject to change.
With the storms coming this weekend, travel may be disrupted by wind, with planes generally taking off in rain, the wind and changing direction of the wind can slow the roll or navigation patterns in the air.
