An Uber driver in Ortley Beach received a driving request for a trip to New York City to transport a duffle bag to New York City.

Toms River police say the Uber driver went to pick up and transport an unknown man who went by the name Liam. When the Uber driver arrived, they say Liam only wanted his duffle bag transported to New York City.

Authorities say the driver felt uncomfortable and thought the bag was filled with illegal drugs. The driver brought the bag to police who discovered marijuana and gummies inside.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made. News 12 New Jersey reached out to Toms River police for more information.
