Truck crash on I-78 slows traffic through Summit
Multiple first responders are on the scene of a jackknifed tractor-trailer crash on I-78 that has traffic at a crawl as the morning rush hour approaches. According to the NJ DOT's 511NJ website, the crash took place in the eastbound lanes of I-78 West in the area of Glenside Avenue in Summit. Immediately following the crash, all lanes were closed, before emergency crews began arriving. As of about 5 a.m., two right lanes and the right shoulder of the roadway remained closed. There is no word yet on any injuries, or how long crews will be on the scene working to clear the crash. First responders from multiple agencies were on the scene, including New Jersey State Police and Union County Hazmat. This is a developing story. Check back for more updates.
