(09/28/06) TRENTON ? Trenton School Superintendent Rodney Lofton outlined his vision of the future for his cash-strapped district Thursday.
Lofton says togetherness will be a common theme for both students and parents in the future. According to Lofton, the community must work with one another in order to give students the level of education they deserve. He also says parents must be more involved in their children?s education. The superintendent told parents they must remain constantly involved, which can often be a problem as students grow older.
Lofton also outlined plans for a more consistent curriculum and various security measures. The superintendent hopes to add more police, install additional cameras and implement a swipe-card security system. Lofton says his plans can work despite the district?s financial trouble, which he believes may get worse before they get better.
