Leaders in the tough Trenton community want retailers to pull the plug on policies allowing anyone to buy bullets, no questions asked.
Activists say there is too much violence and they see stores like Dick?s Sporting Goods as part of the problem. Leaders point to a state report that found gang members and ex-cons are buying ammunition from retailers. Many Trenton residents agree that while it may be legal for stores to sell ammunition, it?s sometimes morally irresponsible.
Dick?s corporate office has not returned calls for comment.
