A tree fell onto a home in Haworth during recent storms, but no one was injured, according to police.

The incident caused only superficial damage to the home, Haworth police said. A building inspector determined there was no structural damage.

"Initially I heard a crack and then after the crack, there was a big boom, and I looked to the side of the house and the tree, believe it or not is a glancing blow, but it’s gone through the roof and I have a hole in the ceiling, I have a crack all the way down into the dining room so there's been a lot of damage to this house," said homeowner David Cieplicki.

Utilities to the home were shut off as a precaution because tree limbs fell near where the electrical service is connected. Police said the utilities were disconnected to protect the tree removal crew that will remove the downed tree and limbs.
