It was a busy travel day at Newark Liberty International Airport Sunday as many schools gave children a week off due Election Day and parent-teacher conferences.
A lot of flyers whom News 12 spoke to said they were staying in the states – some heading to Disney parks and other warmer places as the temperature starts to drop.
There were long lines of travelers for Spirit Airlines and United Airlines.
Some families told News 12 they got some good last-minute deals.
Despite some going to warmer destinations, one family said they are ready for the snow. The family booked a flight to Iceland to try and see the Northern Lights.
"We’ve been talking about this since 2020, but we booked this trip back in February because we wanted to see snow, and we like the snow and the cold. So yeah, we’re excited to go," said Kate Silva, of Manahawkin.
