As temperatures drop, ice will be our biggest issue and create challenging roadway and sidewalk conditions for a look. Let's send it over to news 12, New Jersey's Naomi Jane in Thunderbolt 12. Hey there, Darrow, like you mentioned, we're in Morristown right now. We're checking out the roadways out here and we heard Dave mentioned earlier that your major roadways, right? Like your 287 s are looking, ok? And they're fair and well out there. But those secondary roadways are really what may be a little bit tricky for us tonight. Take a look at this road that we're on right here right now in Morristown, not all the way treated just yet hoping to get a little bit of a clean in out. I'm sure for the folks who live out here, but we're seeing a lot of this through, especially on those secondary and tertiary roads like Dave mentioned on the roads where folks live, right? That's where we're seeing a lot of this now. No one is exempt from this, obviously. So I don't want to just call out Morristown. We're seeing this throughout many communities in our state earlier today. The Cranford Police Department. They put out some winter weather driving tips that would be helpful on a night like tonight where we're seeing some icing conditions on some of our roadways. Now, here are those winter weather driving tips, right? They say to reduce your speed to counteract traction loss due to wet roads and you want to increase your following distance. That's a good one. Be smooth when accelerating, turning and breaking, be prepared by having a fully stocked emergency kit aboard. I think we heard Jim Murdoch talk about that. Keep your fuel tank at least half full. And in short, your tires have plenty of tread and are properly inflated. All of that good advice if you have to be out and about tonight as well as tomorrow morning and as always, if you don't have to be out on the roadways, you want to stay inside so that the salt trucks. Dpwoe those folks can get out here and do their thing. But tonight in thunderbolt, Naomi Jane, New, New Jersey, Dara, I'll send it back to the studio.

First it was snow, then rain, which as Dave said caused sleet. Now we're preparing for chilly temperatures. Very cold news. 12 New Jersey hopped in thunderbolt. 12, Naomi Jane joining us live from Hillsborough this evening, Naomi Eric, I'm actually going to hop out of thunderbolt right now. I'm actually not gonna do a whole lot of hopping because I don't wanna hurt myself, but I will be hopping out of thunderbolt and talk about something. I don't know that we're really talking about. Right? Is watching our footing. We heard, uh, Dave talking about things icing over tonight and that's what we're seeing out here. Right? You see all that snow on top of the grass. It seems kind of safe, but even there, we're starting to see icy conditions and take a look at the sidewalk out here, right? This is what folks to watch out for tonight. Not all the sidewalks are treated just yet. So that's what you want to watch out for. If you're headed out tonight, maybe you're just getting home, you're gonna walk the dogs. Um, you know, this is what you want to watch out for as folks are just starting to get out there tonight to treat the sidewalks, to treat their, their, uh driveways and so on. So, just be careful that if you're headed out and about take a listen to some of the folks we talked to tonight who are just now getting an opportunity to treat some of the roads in front of their homes, just trying to keep the, uh, driveway clear of ice. And I couldn't get out here this morning. I had another, uh, appointment to attend to, but I'm out there now. It's a little hot. It's a little choppy. I did a little, uh, um, shoveling. How was that? Not fun, but thankfully it was like it was light. So that's the good news, right? And you heard Gary mention that it's choppy. What he meant was, it's starting to ice over and he's having to break that ice to be able to pick it up with the shovel and then toss it to the side. That's what folks are dealing with out there tonight. But again, watch for these slick roadways, sidewalks and some of the secondary and roads are also still, um, not all the way treated just yet. So you want to watch for that if you're headed out and about, if you don't have to be out, of course, stay inside so that the folks who are doing this work can get out here and do what they need to do tonight in Hillsboro, Nao Miani News. 12 New Jersey, Eric.
