A township employee was recently hospitalized with Legionnaires' disease in West Orange, a lung infection which can be deadly.
The disease kills one in 10 people infected.
According to town officials, they've tested bacteria in two buildings, including town hall.
Five out of 10 samples came back with elevated levels.
The officials are disconnecting the potable water in question.
Legionnaires' can be picked up from breathing in water vapor with Legionella bacteria.
The infection can't be passed from person to person.
The employee is recovering.
