Cleanup efforts continue after Tuesday’s tornado rips through Mercer County

Residents in Lawrence Township were hit hard as the storm left behind damaged cars and homes.

Mercer County continues cleanup efforts after Tuesday's rare weather event – a tornado.
The National Weather Service confirmed it was a EF-2 tornado. This type of tornado is considered a strong storm with winds anywhere between 105 to 115 mph.
Residents in Lawrence Township were hit hard as the storm left behind damaged cars and homes. Residents say that it felt like something that happens in a movie. Some residents say they lucked out but still watched in shock as the tornado tore through other homes.
The American Red Cross says it is assisting nearly two dozen families who were displaced. Some were able to retrieve their belongings but were unable to return to their homes for now.
