Congregants of a Toms River synagogue are doing what they can to help Israeli troops fighting Hamas in Gaza.
Congregation B’nai Israel put out the call for supplies and received many items. These donations included bulletproof vests with ceramic plates, sleeping bags, backpacks, tourniquets, clothing, first aid supplies and nonperishable food. These items will be sent overseas.
The rabbi at the synagogue wrote in a statement, “When Israel was brutally and sadistically attacked by Hamas, our congregation rose up to do what it always does – spring into action to aid our fellow Jews and our homeland.
