Prosecutors: Toms River man shoots another man in the leg

Prosecutors say Anthony Brown, 20, fired two shots at the victim’s car and injured him. He then fled the scene.

A man from Toms River was arrested after police say he shot a 24-year-old man in the leg on Wednesday, according to Ocean County prosecutors.
The shooting happened on Adams Avenue near Route 37. Prosecutors say Anthony Brown, 20, fired two shots at the victim’s car and injured him. He then fled the scene. A short time later, Brown was taken into custody at his home.
The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of his injuries. He was later released.
Brown is being held in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing. He's charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.
