Thousands of people lined up along Main Street in Toms River Thursday night for the 85th annual Halloween Parade.
Toms River officials say that this is the second largest Halloween parade in the world - behind only the one in Greenwich Village in New York City. As many as 6,000 people were expected to march in the parade.
The parade includes decorated floats and cars, along with window paintings on downtown businesses. The window paintings have been a tradition of Toms River South High School students since the 1940s.
The Toms River Fire Department has been organizing the parade for decades. It is a major fundraiser for the department.
