Police made an arrest Wednesday in the brutal beating of an elderly Jersey City man.
The attack occurred near the intersection of Greenville Avenue and Old Bergen Road outside the St. Paul the Apostle Church on March 22. Police say the victim, 80-year-old Ervisto Conidi, was forced to the ground and beaten. Conidi was taken to University Hospital in Newark in critical condition. He was released Wednesday.
Authorities say they received good tips that helped lead to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy. The Jersey City teen has been charged with robbery and two counts of assault.
