Firefighters fought a three-alarm fire Sunday afternoon in North Bergen. About 65 firefighters and officers responded to the fire around 11 a.m. and battled the flames for more than an hour. North Hudson Fire Chief Brion McEldowney says they believe the fire began on the second floor and spread a large body of flames to the attic. The family inside was able to make it out safely, but fire officials say the extensive damage has made the home uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
