Thousands show Puerto Rican, American pride at Jersey City parade

Thousand of revelers, including celebrities, lined the streets in Jersey City Sunday for the 46th annual Puerto Rican Heritage Parade. Geraldo Rivera served as the international grand marshal this year.

Thousand of revelers, including celebrities, lined the streets in Jersey City Sunday for the 46th annual Puerto Rican Heritage Parade.
Geraldo Rivera served as the international grand marshal this year. Rivera and others say the parade is a way to establish a feeling of community and pride for adults and youth. Participants also say the event displays their pride as Americans.
The parade stretched several miles along Kennedy Boulevard. Officials say plans are already underway for next year?s festivities.
