The Real Deal: How to score cheap airfare tickets this fall

Travel insiders expect airfares to drop 25% in the coming weeks as many travelers have lost interest in having to get away.
If you plan on a domestic or abroad trip, now is the time to grab a great deal.
Don't wait too long before booking a Thanksgiving domestic flight, says Scott Keyes, founder of Scott's Cheap Flights.
Keyes says the biggest score is traveling abroad during Thanksgiving, as most people are staying close to home.
The last thing of note is that even if you're watching a fare, and it's staying persistently high, you want to set 21 days before your trip as the sort of drop dead deadline to get your flight booked. The reason why, is that many of the cheapest fares have written in the fine print a requirement that you purchase the ticket at least 21 days before travel.
The biggest hidden secret in the travel industry is that there's not a huge difference between flight search engines.
Book directly with the airline if the fare is comparable. If there is a cancellation, or delay, you can call the airline directly.
Keyes says there is no magic time or day of the week to snag a good deal. It's all based on algorithms, so if you see a great fare, grab it immediately.
