? Lighting struck a Pelham Bay apartment building Thursday night, causing some tenants to call for the removal of cell phone towers.
One resident says the lightning came through her ceiling, went through a bedroom and left a burn mark in the hallway. No one was injured in the incident. Tenants claim lightning also struck the building in 2003. Many feel cell phone towers on their roof are to blame.
Sprint Nextel operates the cell towers and says there is no proof its towers attract electricity. Officials say they have added equipment at the site to prevent property and bodily damage in the likelihood of such an event.
