Police say a group of teenagers sideswiped multiple cars Wednesday in Summit while speeding in a stolen car and then crashed.

The teens were driving east on Route 24 South Service Road near Hobart Avenue around 4 p.m. when a detective found a 2019 Audi A5 that was reported stolen in Montclair, according to police.

Police say the teens sideswiped six cars before the Audi flipped over. The five teens then exited the car and fled east on the shoulder of the highway into a PSE&G maintenance yard on Middle Avenue, according to police. They say it took more than two hours to find them.

All five teens were taken into custody and face various charges. They were released to the custody of their guardians pending a hearing.
