Icy roads, young kids and alleged alcohol use spelled disaster along a Belleville roadway Wednesday.
Police say the 17-year-old girl who wrapped her 2001 Ford Mustang around a utility pole violated her provisional license by driving without an adult and being on the road past 11 p.m. According to police, the road conditions along Washington Avenue did play a part, but they also say the driver did fail a Breathalyzer test. They say the teen even had too many passengers in the car.
Two of the passengers in the Mustang suffered serious injuries. The young driver now faces charges of aggravated assault, DWI, underage drinking, and violating a provisional license.
