School officials say two more New Jersey schools will be closed for a week after more than 100 students were absent with flu-like symptoms Monday.
According to the district superintendent, 95 students called out sick from Veterans' Memorial Elementary School in Union City and another 15 students were sent home with fevers and headaches. Administrators at Woodrow Wilson School in Weehawken say 58 students were absent due to illness.
School officials say the closures are precautionary. Though there are no confirmed cases of swine flu at either school, there are two suspected cases at Veterans' Memorial.
The schools will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and officials say mobile health clinics will be set up outside the buildings. Students will report back to class June 9.
