Multiple swastikas were discovered inside a Lakewood synagogue early Wednesday in what authorities are investigating as an antisemitic bias incident.
Officers responded to the synagogue on Spruce Street at about 5:38 a.m. July 29 after receiving a report of suspicious markings inside the building, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
Investigators said a person arriving at the synagogue found multiple swastikas placed throughout the interior of the building. Officers documented the markings, which were later removed.
The Lakewood Police Department said it is actively investigating the incident.
