No serious injuries were reported when an SUV crashed through the front window of a Bernardsville pizzeria Monday evening.
Employees of B’Ville Pizza & Grill tell News 12 New Jersey that it was just before the evening rush when the vehicle crashed through the front wall of the restaurant around 5 p.m.
The SUV was driven by one of the shop’s regular customers, according to employees. The crash left a massive hole in the wall. Management says that there were customers sitting and eating at that table there just five minutes earlier.
“He just drove straight into the building. I guess he got confused between his brakes and his gas pedal. It happens,” says B-Ville manager Moe Zeidan. “He was coming to the restaurant to eat. He took down a wall instead.”
A waitress and the SUV’s driver were startled and were taken to the hospital to get checked out.
The town inspector came by to make sure that the building is secure.
The owners say that the pizza shop will reopen Tuesday.
