Sussex County firefighter dies from heart attack after responding to 2 calls

A Sussex Township firefighter suffered a heart attack while at home after responding to two calls, according to Sussex Fire Department and EMS.

A Sussex Township firefighter has died after fighting a brush fire in Wantage, News 12 New Jersey has learned.
Tony Duivenvoorde responded to two calls Wednesday morning and later died at his home, the fire department wrote in a Facebook post.
"Firefighter Tony Duivenvoorde made the ultimate sacrifice after responding to back-to-back calls for a fire alarm and then a car into a commercial structure which caught fire," Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company wrote in a Facebook post. "Please keep the Duivenvoorde family in your thoughts and prayers. To Sussex Fire & EMS, we are with you for whatever you need. Rest easy brother, we got it from here."
Funeral services will be announced at a later time.
