Suspect in custody following shooting that caused shelter-in-place at Stockton University

Police say the suspect was arrested at a local housing development.

A person has been taken into custody in a shooting that happened near Stockton University’s Galloway campus, which prompted a temporary shelter-in-place.

Galloway Township police say a shooting occurred near the campus just before 1 p.m.

They say that one person was injured in the shooting and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment.

Police said that they were looking for a white man with long blonde hair and a green shirt. They say the suspects got away in a white Honda CR-V.

Galloway police issued an update around 5 p.m. stating that a suspect was taken into custody. They say that this person was found in a local housing development and arrested without incident.

Details about the suspect were not released.

The shelter-in-place at Stockton University was lifted just after 4 p.m. School officials said that all classes and activities will be canceled for the rest of the day. A regular schedule will resume on Friday.
