From Hoboken to Cape May, 127 miles of beach extend along the Atlantic coastline of New Jersey. That's 127 miles of opportunity for a good time this summer! Whether it's a concert or lounging by the beach, there's plenty in store this year to keep your weekends busy.



Atlantic City

What do you think when you hear "Atlantic City?" Casinos? Wrong. AC is no longer just a gambler's paradise. This summer, the resort city is home to an array of shows and festivals guaranteeing a good time for everyone. With too many performances to choose from, I promise your nights will be chock full of laughs and foot tapping. Nothing could be better than seeing such musical talents as Weezer, Beck, Mary J. Blige, and Sting all in one city. I also promised laughs so here they are: Sarah Silverman, Jay Leno, and my personal favorite, Jerry Seinfeld!



If none of the aforementioned performances captivate you, there's always Cirque du Soleil. This year, Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall welcomes Dralion Cirque du Soleil - an arena of Chinese acrobatic art that meets the Cirque you know and love. Gravity-defying stunts, flying colors, and incredible costumes prove to be a marvelous adventure.



Looking to escape the bustle of the boardwalk for a day? Imagine 54 holes, $1.5 million, and 144 of the best female golfers in the world under the sun on Seaview Resort's historic Bay Course. ShopRite presents the LPGA Classic May 28th until June 3rd. Show your ShopRite Plus card and admission is free. Otherwise, one day tickets are $15 - 100% of which goes to charity.



If you love food and wine as much as the next guy, this one's for you. The Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival has 25 events to choose from between parties, classes, and tastings. And they're all jam packed from July 26th until the 29th. So choose wisely because there isn't enough time to enjoy them all!



This year, we celebrate the 10th annual "Thunder Over the Boardwalk" Atlantic City Airshow. The show attracted almost a million spectators last year and the decennial will be no exception. The show kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on August 17th so park your lounger in the sand because there won't be a bad seat in the house!



When all else fails, you can always take a walk on the world's longest boardwalk. With everything that Atlantic City has to offer, you're bound to find something that piques your interest!



Cape May

After a nice drive down New Jersey's Atlantic coastline, pop open a bottle of wine at the state's number one attraction in both Cape May and the entire Jersey Shore - Turdo Vineyards and Winery. Descending from Sicily, the Turdo family is very hands on - picking grapes and hosting tastings. Interested in taking some bottles back home? I suggest placing an order in advance because they have been known to sell out at a moment's notice.



If you're not a drinker there are plenty of things to do under the sun. Cape May offers wild adventures such as parasailing, whale and dolphin watching, and kayaking. East Coast Parasail is the only parasail company in Cape May and provides its guests with exclusive views of the historic town 500' over the Atlantic Ocean. I've gone parasailing and I can assure you it's a great thrill suitable for everyone in the family.



The Cape May Whale Watcher offers several tours including whale and dolphin watching. There's no greater awe than watching these tremendous mammals catapulting out of the water and swimming beside you. The Watcher also offers sunset dinner cruises as well as lighthouse cruises.



Kayaking is a great sport suitable for beginners and experts. It requires light exercise that pays off with incredible views while gliding on the surface of the Cape Island Creek. Miss Chris Kayak Rental and Tours affords guests the experience of wildlife watching, beautiful sunset trips, and night trips under the moon.



Point Pleasant

Take a break from the beach for a day and visit Point Pleasant for the 22nd Annual Summerfest on June 2nd. From 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., The Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce will present Barefoot Wine tastings, six live bands, 200 craft and specialty vendors, Coors Light Beer Garden, and over 20 food vendors serving crab cakes, Cajun, BBQ, and so much more! Children can enjoy a parade at noon, face painting, sand art, and their own expanded section.



Bookend Summerfest with Jenkinson's Boardwalk! From 9:30a.m. until 11 a.m., check out the Aquarium for their Behind the Scenes Tour. Afterward Summerfest, hit up the amusement rides and end the night on a sweet note at the Sweet Shop. Heading to the Jenkinson's during the week?
