It’s been bad news for travelers recently as flight delays and cancellations have soared across the country.
According to FlightAware.com, over 1,900 flights have been canceled on Sunday with an additional 6,000 seeing delays. Of those, 93 flights have been canceled at Newark International Airport.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg met with airline CEOs virtually in hopes of getting some answers about these travel issues.
Airlines say that they are struggling with staffing shortages. They also pointed to inclement weather and a surging demand to travel this summer.
Be sure to call ahead or check your flight status online before you head to the airport this summer.
