Many students at Rutgers University tuned in to President-elect Obama?s first news conference since his election victory.
The focus of the news conference was the economy, which Obama has deemed the top priority of his presidency. Though the students expressed their concerns about the financial crisis, they say Obama?s words were somewhat reassuring and they look forward to his inauguration in January.
"I think it was crucial for him to really gain trust while America is at its lowest point, especially my generation,? Justin Underhill, a Rutgers sophomore, says. ?You hear stories about the Great Depression and hearing the foreshadowing of it is really scary."
