Strong storms have impacted parts of southern New York, with the National Weather Service issuing thunderstorm and tornado warnings and watches.
Curren says that he expects some of these warnings to come to New Jersey by the evening. The storms could bring winds in excess of 60 mph, as well as large hailstones. This means that there is the potential for storm damage and power outages.
New Jersey residents are advised to stay indoors as these storms move through the area, and people should be prepared for potential power outages.
The storms are expected to clear out of New Jersey by the overnight hours.
