Members of the Port Authority Police Department have stepped up to help a struggling bakery in Clark.

When police officers at LaGuardia Airport heard their fellow rookie officers' family business was facing closure, they got together to raise more than $5,000 to help Vaccaro's Bakery.

The money will go toward payroll and paying rent for the month.

“It just shows that we are one big family and when someone is struggling, no one hesitates to step up and support them," says Officer Jessica Vaccarro.
The bakery did have to shut down for two weeks, but plans to reopen. All baked goods for Easter will be donated to the hospitals.
