A significant warmup is headed our way this week with temperatures that throw us into summer. Highs will be in the mid-80s and even lower 90s from Tuesday through Thursday. This heat rivals some records in the area, specifically on Wednesday where Newark's record high is 88 degrees that was set in 1960.

The weather is pretty benign otherwise with just thin clouds, sunshine, and comfortable humidity levels. The humidity won't jump too high during this stretch of heat, but it comes up enough to prevent overnight temperatures from dropping too much each night. It will remain in the 60s for the morning lows and upper 50s in the hills.

Beaches will run a bit cooler as a result of the spring sea breeze. This will be the case each day this week as the beaches remain in the 60s and 70s despite inland communities reaching the 80s and even 90s.

Rain chances are possible Tuesday, but only spotty showers. The next bigger round of rain won't be until Sunday of this upcoming weekend.
