There will be no clemency from the cold this week. The arctic air will plunge unobstructed from the Hudson Bay through the Great Lakes and right into New Jersey's lap for the foreseeable future. This could be the longest stretch of sub-30-degree temperatures since 2018. Cold weather advisories extend through tomorrow.
Morning wake-up temperatures will be well below normal, and the wind will continue to sting even when you are properly prepared.
Wednesday afternoon will be filled with early sunshine. Late-day clouds will follow. The winds will persist. Not as gusty, but any breath of a breeze will make it feel so much colder.
About that weekend storm - There is no need to panic yet. All the weather pieces are on the playing board. The confidence of a storm off the East Coast is growing and the region could be impacted by snow, damaging wind, and coastal flooding.
But the track of the storm is still very much uncertain, and the track is what we need to understand to know who sees what and when.
