Storm knocks out power for thousands of New Jersey residents

More than 3,000 PSE&G customers remain without power as of noon. According to the JCP&L outage map, over 12,000 customers are without power.

Damaging wind and heavy rain wreaked havoc around the Garden State Wednesday night.
Thousands of New Jersey residents remain without power Thursday morning due to downed wires throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties.
More than 3,000 PSE&G customers remain without power as of noon. According to the JCP&L outage map, over 12,000 customers are without power.
There were reports of traffic light outages late Wednesday night at several intersections along Route 9 due to an areawide power outage. But it appears all of these areas have had power restored.
News 12's Tony Caputo is in Monmouth County this morning checking out storm damage and flooded areas at the Jersey Shore.
Route 36 in West Long Branch near Eatontown is closed in both directions between Monmouth Road and Route 35 due to a downed utility pole near Monmouth Mall.
