A Monmouth County police department now has a new police vehicle, thanks to a statewide contest.

Officers in the Spring Lake Police Department can now drive a $100,000 fully customized police Ford Bronco. All American Ford and police tech company GTBM organized the giveaway.

Spring Lake police say the vehicle will help with patrols and community events.

"These kinds of events not only help us connect with our community but also give us equipment and resources that we normally wouldn't have,” says Spring Lake Police Capt. Tim Giblin.

Each police department had to create a social media video to enter the contest.

"This brought communities together; a lot of townships had fun with it. Some of the stories were heartfelt, some were funny,” said All American Ford Paramus president Jon Selman.

The winner was chosen randomly among the top 20 videos with the most engagement.
